Yi Wang aims to communicate her passion, respect and memories of her life experience through her unique musical language and colorful tones. Yi is studying with Susanne Stanzeleit for an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in violin performance at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire to be completed by 2023, and also being accepted into Lewis Kaplan's studio of The New School - Mannes School of Music for the Professional Studies Diploma since Fall 2023. Yi previously studied for her Master’s degree with Callum Smart at Royal Northern College of Music and finished with Distinction. Yi plays an Italian violin made by Raffaele VACCARI, Reggio Emilia 1991, courtesy of Han Violins Ltd.

Biography
From 2014 to 2018, Yi was awarded a Bachelor of Laws at Southwest University of Political Science and Law in Chongqing, China. At the same time, Yi was the concertmaster of the String Orchestra of this university and held two solo concerts through her last study year.

Yi has awarded the Gold Medal of Sonata Category in London Young Musician Competition in 2021, and attended some music festivals as well like Virtuoso & Belcanto(Italy), La Marriete(France), Cadenza(United Kingdom), she has been mentored by Krzysztof Wegrzyn, Estzer Haffner, Jan Bjøranger, Alissa Margulis, Lucy Gould, Leland Chen, Tymur Melnyk and planned to apply for more abroad music festivals in future.

Violinist Tymur Melnyk recommended Yi: “She is a rare example of musical talent, particularly her natural musical perception and hearing are capable of incredible feats that are represented as her skill of production of impeccable sound clarity and precise intonation. Her violin playing is dexterous, fully prepared for cultivation and further artistic development, so is her attitude – she is among the very few who are in an active state of anticipation for more information on everything related to music and instrumental skills."

Public final of The Delius Prize, sponsored and hosted by The Delius Society. In this prestigious his competition, RBC strings, piano and vocal students present a 20-minute programme of which at least ten minutes will be of music by Frederick Delius. The remainder will be by one of his contemporaries.
